I know I have seen this discussed here, but my research is only pulling up
finding duplicates in a single worksheet

I am looking for a way to compare 2 files for duplicate data in one column. If
found I would like to highlight the matching fields in both files. Is this
possible and what is the best way to do this?

there is an addin you can get from Oxgrid.com. $34. I have
not seen your files/data but why not copy the one file
into another on a temp sheet(to be deleted after compare)?

Chip Pearson has lots of techniques at:
http://www.cpearson.com/excel/duplicat.htm

And they can be in separate worksheets (even separate workbooks).
