I had to reinstall XP on my laptop and followed all instructions, but ended
up with two versions of Windows XP. This means every time I start-up i have
to go through a screen to choose which program to use. The old version is in
a separtae folder, but cannot merely be deleted.. any advise how to get rid
of the old program??? Thank you

Hello,

You can modify the boot.ini file within Windows XP to remove the duplicate
install of Windows XP. Read the following KB article which describes this
procedure in details
