I think I know what you mean now.
Currently my C: drive [XP Home] is primary master or [0] connection on my
mother board.
Other drive is slave [Vista] or [1] on my mb. This is how I want it.
This is how Dell put it to me since there are no physical jumper settings on
SATA drives v.s IDE drives. I have my IDE [Win 98] set to cable select since
it's the only drive on my PCI card at the present time.
Since I have three drives, you are telling me to add one at a time,
disconnecting the others temporarily until I do the same to the other two
drives, making all three independent?
Would it be any esier to edit the boot.ini and plug in my three disks
accordingly, or no? Yes, I should practice with a spare disk, but I have
OS's on all .

I haven't had time yet to go over the documentation for the boot loader, and
need to partition all three drives, but they didn't say how much for each
drive.
Need to look over documentation first before anything though.
