I have windows xp installed right now and I dual booted with vista by
re-partitioning my hard drive. After encountering problems with vista I
delted the vista partition and resized the xp partition back to it's original
size. I am now stuck with the windows vista boot loader which persistantly
telling me that the windows vista files are not present etc. etc. Is there
any way that I can delted the vista bootloader and go back to using the xp
bootloader?

Locate your boot.ini file and edit it removing the extra boot option.

right click my computer-->properties-->advanced
--->startup and recovery -->settings

to edit statup options manually, click edit

a notepad window will appear with some configurations settings that you can
edit.
--------
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
Professional" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
---------

1.
under the [operating section]
delete the line indicating windows vista boot

2. set timeout to a low value

3. to change the default boot option,
use the default= line

delete any references to the vista install and copy/paste your xp line from
the[operating systems] section

The simplest solution to this issue is to download, install in
XP, and run this program.

VistaBootPRO 3.3
http://www.vistabootpro.org/

Once you've launched the program, click on System Bootloader.
Select "Windows Legacy Bootloader".
Select "All Drives".
Hit the "Install Bootloader" button.

Restart your computer.

The alternative procedure is to boot with your XP installation
CD into the Recovery Console and run the fixboot C: command.

To start the computer and use the Recovery Console
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d....mspx?mfr=true

Fixboot

Good luck

Nepatsfan has provided you with the correct options. April doesn't
understand the startup process
