Others have shown you how to install Vista and get the Microsoft dual
boot configuration. However there is a danger in doing it this way,
as Windows XP will destroy the Vista System Restore points if it can
see the drive.
Your best bet is to use a third party boot manager program, such as
BootItNG from
www.bootitng.com and configure it so that the
non-booting operating system partition is always hidden. That way XP
can't destroy or contaminate the Vista files and vice-versa.
