I made a clean install of vista business and xppro in two partitions on the
same disk (100gb each). Vista goes nice and smooth with all the bells and
whistles turned on and the fan noise is normal, ie up and down depending on
the workload.

The broblem is when I boot XPpro the fan goes up at full speed when booting
then stays that way.

I have runned this PC (HP Pavillion d4495) with XPpro as a single OS for
about 6 months with no such problem. Thanks in advance for any help. /SC

Thank you tazz for taking your time. One question: if I turn my comuter off
and then boot from winxp, is portions of vista loaded in this process?
Btw, it´s a dual core AMD, 2 GB ram
Greetings
