Dual Boot/drive letter question

I had two (separate) XPPRO's installed in partitions C: and D: on my main
HD. I say had, because I just formatted and got rid of the second one for
now as my Bluetooth Keyboard wouldn't work in the second one unless I
removed and added it back.
Question is: Why when 2nd Pro installed did the drive letters I see when
in first setup C:PRO1 D:PRO2 E:Spare F:Backup change when in setup 2 to:
C:PRO1 F:PRO2 G:Spare E:Backup ?
I noticed when signed into the second setup PRO1 in C: was still the active
partition....
So what am I doing wrong before I take another crack at this?
I used Norton PM to partition (all NTFS) and Windows own boot manager to
switch between them.
I just thought it would be useful, as I own 2 copies of Pro to have one
setup for beta testing stuff.

I should add.. the rearranged drive letters occur the minute I click ESC to
set up a fresh copy of Windows, then whatever to get that screen with the
choice of drives.

So, you are "missing" "D" and "H". Probably has to do with the
partition type, primary or extended.

C,D and E are Primary (all intended for Windows...whatever).. F is logical
in an extended partition. (As viewed in the first installation).

Well, if "D" is there, what is on "D"? I do not understand what is
going on. I will be out of town for the next few days.

Good luck, jimbo

C is my original XP Pro, D is hopefully my second XP Pro, E is spare, and F
is backups.
All I'm wondering is why when I install the second Pro on D and boot into it
the drive letters all change, except for C.
