"dslstat.exe" is third-party software and does not belong to WinXP.

| connections. This is a non-essential process. Disabling or enabling it
| is down to user preference.

Disable or uninstall that software or contact the vendor's tech support.

Likely came with the modem or ISP configuration software. Some info about
the file here:

Try re-installing the DSL modem software.
