Is it possible to share a line with an answering machine and still use
MSFax?

I used to have two land lines until I had DSL installed to replace my
dial-up. I used one line for voice with the answering machine connected to
it as my main number and then used the other for my dial-up and the FAX.

Now I only have the one land line.

No one seems to be on the XP Personal FAX site.

Thanks in advance.

You should not have any trouble sending faxes on a line with an answering
machine. If you have DSL phone filters, make sure that you have them on
the answering machine line and the fax modem line.

If you want to receive incoming faxes you would need a device that can
determine if the incoming call is fax or not to either connect the the
answering machine or fax modem, and would need the phone filter on the
line that connects that fax/phone device to the wall. Either that or get
a fax machine with built-in answering machine (or voice/fax/modem that can
use your PC as answering machine).
