That scanner is the same as the Umax Powerlook III, Heidelberg don't
make scanners just re-badge them. This you were told.

But then again you have been on this for quite a while, as you did know
last year.

If you were fortunate to refer back had all the necessary information.

Other party downloaded VueScan before the scanner was working over SCSI (had
found it very early in the exercise), saw it worked, was happy with the
interface and price.
So your information was not deliberately spurned, as an act of direct spite.
There was no need to sift through Umax drivers to try and locate the correct
one as the scanner was already working.
Looking back up the thread, I see that I had found information to suggest
that the scanner was not actually the one you indicated but another slightly
lower spec model.

Equally, the PC was powerful enough to run Ubuntu under VMWare and use SANE
to interface to the scanner from within Windows.
Again, this solution was not required because of the ease of using VueScan.

The information you provided was useful and gratefully received, but did not
place us under any obligation.

I updated this thread to note which solution we went with.
Anyone reading the thread would see all the information offered.

It might have been a little more polite, perhaps, to merely enquire if we
had tried the Umax drivers as you had previously suggested?

Cheers
