Hello newsgroup,

At every reboot, XP detects my Hard disks and tries to install the drivers,
but the automatic installation fails every time. I noticed in device manager
that both of my HD's show a yellow exclamation mark. I checked the drivers
and saw that no drivers are installed. Also, DISK.SYS is not installed on
any of the 2 drives, the other two necessary drivers (DRVMCDB.SYS and
PARTMGR.SYS) are. I tried to manually update the drivers by showing them the
location to \windows\inf but this did'nt work either.

Any hints on how to solve this problem?

Thanks

are these non-IDE drives ? RAID configured ? SATA ? (looking to see if
there are specific drivers needed for your HD's)

also ...did this just start ? ...new install ? update ? new hardware?

No these are IDE drives, here's a report from Everest. I'm sorry it's in
French but you willl see
that the disk has no drivers at all.

I'd like to add that if connect a USB drive, all drivers for this device are
installed; Strange insn't it?
