I would like to know how to force XP to use the Standard
vga driver! I have tried several times to uninstall the
old driver and everytime it reboots to finish uninstalling
the current driver it just finds the old driver
automatically instead of letting me pick a new driver.

You cannot remove this driver, what you should do is install drivers for
your video card, got to Start, Run, type devmgmt.msc, click on Display
adapters, right click your video adapter, go to properties, got to drivers
and Update Driver

Thanks

Why do you need the standard vga driver?
If you want to switch to 640x480 temporarily, make a shortcut to any
program,
then set VGA compatible resolution it it's properties.
