Check Device Manager for errors and or non-starting devices.

What type of CD-R Software do you have on your systems. What happen whe
you get the pop up windows reporting the error message? Are yo
launching any specific applications? What happen when you go do Saf
Mode, do you have the same issue?

If you have instalStomp RecordNow Max, then you need to install a
upgrade that can be found at:

Stomp RecordNow Max version 4.50
http://downloads.stompinc.com/support/stprnm450v.exe

If you continue to encounter problems that are not corrected wit
version 4.50

Download & install the latest Px Engine update from the sonic solution
site.

Device manager finds the drive and says it works fine,
says the drivers are okay, it's just in "mydvd" and if i
try to access a disc direct from my computer it says it
can't "see" it

In that case you'll probably need to contact the application developer.

Try to Upgrade you software to copy cd/dvd, because Windows only read
cd/dvd, but to write/copy you need that you software identify you dvd/cd
driver.

try Nero Burning , you can download to try free
