Delete them. Just make sure you know which files they are. "Uninstall" often
doesn't work as it should.
Then use regedit, just to make sure -- delete the references to the modem
driver(s). But read up on how to use it first. If you have doubts about your
ability to use it safely, _don't use it._
And you can't increase line speed by using another driver. Use _only_ the
driver for your OS and modem model. Connection speed depends on so many
factors out there (not in your system) that it's futile to mess with your
system trying to up the connection speed. Except for one thing: experiment
with the COM port's speed setting. For some modems the highest port speed
works better, for some the lower one (57200) works better. I can't find any
reason for the differences, I've just noticed that it happens.
