I had to upgrade a Dell Dimension 8200 from Home to Pro because another
similar machine running Pro was dying. The Upgrade seemed to go without a
hitch, but when I tried to add my Printer, I got a message that my Hardward
go not be installed. I downloaded the latest XP driver from the Printer site
(Canon), but I still got the same error message that the installation failed.
There is a KB page that talks about this kind of failure when upgrading to XP
from other Window versions that suggests recopying the Driver.cab from the XP
upgrade disc. I tried this too, but it didn't change things. When I try to
install the printer I get either an error 28 or 01. Any help? Thanks
