On a winxp w/sp2 & ~770 meg memory, installing a Trendnet tew-621pc pmcia
type card doesn't work. The failure in the "found new hardware" scripts says
that the file/driver wasn't found AFTER it copies the driver to the
windows/system32/drivers directory. The driver doesn't have the windows
sig approval/whatever. What else would be needed?

I needed to install the genuine win junk because of a need to get a couple
files & updates onto my desktop some time back.

Have read that vista doesn't allow installation of non-win sig drivers & wonder
if it now holds true for winxp as well with the "genuine" win trojan.

Would even be more nicer if there is a means the user can get winxp to
load/run the device driver via a manual setup...

There should be nothing preventing you from installing "unsigned drivers".

Please give us the exact text of whatever message you are seeing.
