Has anyone had any experience with software
that does driver backups? www.driverguidetoolkit.com looks like it may do
what I want.Anything similar in freeware that works and allows drivers to be
reinstalled from backup? Also is there any software that will positively
identify
hardware without opening the computer?

That's correct, it is no longer Freeware.

FYI: The Payware version does a better job then the Freeware version
ever did.

Nice call Susan:

FYI: The free version does miss some pieces of some drivers but it does
give you a good list of what drivers you have.
