You're trying to install XP ? - The BIOS of the computer should handle
the optical. All that is necessary is to set the Boot order of the PC so the
DVD drive is polled before the hard drive. With that done and the XP
CD inserted you should hear the optical spin up and display a message
"Press any key to begin Windows Setup".
BIOS setup is usually accessible by a keypress of F1, F2 or DEL just
after powering on the PC.
You do have a "U" - Internal and not an "X" - External Sony drive ?
