My computer is brand new and has been running for a few days now. It has all
of the updates needed and ect. But recently the CD-ROM driver has not been
reading anything i put in it, even things that used to work. Im not sure why
this is happening, please help.

Apologies for jumping into this thread - I have the same problem outlined by
Matt. I followed Mike's advice, but the solution didn't work - my search for
regedit yielded nothing. I followed "advanced search" to ensure I covered
all possibilities, yet regedit doesn't show up. Any clues?

If it is new then contact the vendor.
If it is an OS configuration problem what does that say about the OS?
