Such an error can be caused by some software--including virus and spyware
scanners. If you are able to start in safe mode, see whether using MSCONFIG
to remove the startup item for Microsoft Antispyware allows you to start
normally. If it does, I'd then uninstall Microsoft Antispyware.
If you have a log entry for the crash, or a dump of any kind, I suspect
Microsoft would be interested in it.
