I am currently unable to scan from my Brother MFC to PDF. After talking with
a Brother Tech at length about my problem they tell me that my computer is
missing an INF file which is supposed to be in my Windows folder. Because it
is not there, they explain is the reason why my proper install of their
software only gets to 33% and stops. The program under task manager is still
responding. I have also disabled my Symantec Fire wall. Was this a method
of getting me off the phone or is there really a missing INF folder? Also,
is there another way of doing this? Perhaps another software program that
works with my Brother MFC?

The date and time was Thursday, March 26, 2009 3:22:01 PM, and on a
whim, J.K. OONS pounded out on the keyboard:

Hi JK,

What is the exact name of the INF file? Did the tech state it was a
Windows INF file that was missing? Usually the INF file is provided by
the manufacturer of the device unless it's a generic device.

I would go to the Brother site and download the installation file for
your specific model.

Your "Brother MPC" and the "Scan to PDF" items are not part of Windows
XP. The missing INF file is likely an issue but you would need to ask
this Brother Tech "what INF file" and get a name for it.
