I am seeing many times in my Event Viewer and would like to find out
what is causing it
and fix it.

It might be related to my HP 7100 series printer which has slots for
memory cards.
When I am not using the printer, I have it turned off via the power
button on the computer.

The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk2\D.

If the memory card slots are hosted by a card reader, the card
reader connects to an internal hub, they may be powering all
of that off USB bus power.

When the USB printer is turned off, you might want to check
either Device Manager or use UVCView, to see if the printer
is still visible on the USB bus. If so, the card reader might
still be causing a problem.

Unplugging the printer and retesting, is what I'd try next.

One person here, mentions a faulty card reader, as the source
of his error messages.

A memory card would not be considered a hard disk, so it can't be coming
from that. Do you have at least two hard disks installed inside your
system? If so, then this would be coming from your second disk, i.e.
"Harddisk2". Also what is Event ID for these errors, event id 11?
