"drive not accessible" errors-please help!

For some reason, I can no longer access my cd-rom, dvd-
rom, and floppy drives. When I try to access a disk
through windows explorer, it says "drive is not
accessible."

The strange thing is that I can burn a cd using my cd-rom,
it will recognize a music cd when i open my music program,
and windows says all of these components are working
properly.

Can anyone help? I'm really stuck, searching Google
Groups it seems that there are a number of people who have
had this problem, yet there is no consistent fix. Also
read a post in the MS board that this problem may be
related to an iTunes install, which seems to also coincide
with around when I started having problems.
