Drive mapping issues

Hi Everyone

We have mapped a drive from a AD Domain to a NT4 Domain.

Users are logging onto the AD domain. On an XP machine a user is only
prompted to enter his NT4 credentials when he attempts to open the NT4 share.

However on Windows 2000 it appears the OS attempts to connect to the drive
during login as the user is prompted for their NT4 password before their
desktop has even loaded.

Is there a way to get Windows 2000 to replicate the behavior of XP and only
request the NT4 credentials when opening the NT4 share?

The reason we require this is that we have a password manager running that
will automatically enter the user’s credentials, but this will only be active
once the desktop has loaded. I am hoping there is some registry key out there
that may be able to do this.

Hope this makes sense!

Any ideas will be appreciated, thanks in advance!
