Does anyone know how I can change the parition drive
letter (name) on the root directory? Going thorugh the
disk manager the option is there however the OS will not
let me change the letter. I am reading an error that I
cannot rename the parition housing the system volume or
boot volume.

Anyone have suggestions? Please e-mail to my address below
if possible.

Thanks,
Erin

Yes, of course. Itīs very easy. Use partition magic.
Yoyīll be able to change the letter of some drive. The
program itīs very easy, so youīll change the letter of
your drive. But be careful, īcause if you change the
letter of C to another letter, and there isnīt any drive
with the letter C, your windows will not run.

If you have any problem, send me a e-mai. to

Renaming the drive letter could cause no end of problems.
What and Why?

Try. Change the letter of c: to j:, and then reboot. If
you can run windows, youīll be very lucky xDDDDDDd.
All the files that are necessary to run windows are in
c:/winnt or c:/windows, but if you change c: to j:, those
system files will be in j:/winnt or j:/windows, and there
wonīt be any system file in c:/winnt or c:/windows, so
your windows will not run.
In fact, when your windows is starting, you see a error
that says there isnīt virtual memmory or something
similar, i canīt remember i canīt explain very well,
because iīm spanish and itīs very difficult for me to
write about this topics in english. In spanish i can
explain you better xD. So, if somebody can explain you
better...

You can't change the drive letter your system volume is on and expect
anything to work, AFAIK. What is your goal in doing this?
