I recently installed a DVD-RAM and after configuring all
the drive letters the way I like them I restarted the
system. The CHKDSK dialog came up and checked drive E:
and found nothing. When I got into windows, I noticed a
bunch of icons were broken-linked. When I check my drive
letters, my d: partition (disk 2, only one partition) was
now using both drive letters D: and E:, while my normal E
partition (disk 1 partitioned to drive C and E) had been
bumped to F.
I have restarted a number of times, and run full
DSKCHK's, while I can change the drive letter for the D:
drive, the mirrored copy (drive E

is not listed in the
storage manager but continually shows up in explorer.
There is always a copy of that drive taking the E:
letter. When I move the D: partition, I do get a warning
message that says d:\system volume
information\tracking.log is corrupter, run DSKCHK, but
dskchk doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. Any
thoughts?
Thanks
