I am using a xp pro system with SP-2 that has both a CD drive and a dvd/cd
drive

I have not used CD deck in a long time, it did work, when I went to use it
now it cycles but never even updates the name under MY COMPUTER. Also shows
no files. Same CD in dvd/cd drive works proper.

I see nothing odd in properties or looking at Control
panel-system-hardware-device manager and both drives show working properly.

Some suggestions please.

Mel

Helo Mel,

Try this first:

Right-click on the faulty drive and click on Uninstall.
Restart the computer and try again.

Great idea Claymore and best of all it worked. Love them simple fixes.
I had tried rebooting but not uninstall first.

Thank you
Mel
