We had a hard drive fail on a system that has two RAID arrays. The primary
array contains the operating system and is functioning fine. The second
array contains 3 drives in a RAID 5 (hardware) configuration and one of the
drives failed.

Opening up the drive under My Computer shows 0 objects. Disk Manager shows
the drive online with errors. We replaced the drive and rebuilt the array and
are having the same problems. We are unable to run chkdsk because it says it
encounters an error while attempting to fix a cross-linked file number 8.

The drive (e is not accessible under DOS. Under Disk Manager the drive is
showing as a Dynamic, Simple volume. I did not install this server so I
don't know if that is how it was originally setup.

The event viewer is still reporting unrecoverable read errors, even after
the drive is replaced.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
