ran defragment and it found an error on drive d which i am
aware of but now will not boot to drive c which is the
master file. Please help resolve this issue. I am trying
to backup the main files so i can then reformat the whole
computer and reload programs and files.

Thanks.

Sue,

Can you let us know the error you get when you boot, please?

There are many many causes of boot failures. Without the error message we'd
just be guessing.
