How do I trim drawn line segments so that they are the same length and
positioned at equal distances apart??

First, rather than draw 2 lines, draw one and copy and paste, then it will be
the same length. If they are already drawn, double-click on one which is the
right size and you will get a dialog box which will tell you the size. Do the
same for the other lines, but key in the size to match the first line. To
distribute, select all lines then go to Draw | Align or Distribute and chose
the most suitable. Does this solve your problem?
