Hi,

Do you want to insert a function in a cell? If so, put your cursor in
the cell, type "=" sign, then click "Insert Function" button from the
menu bar and select the one you need.

Not sure what you mean, but if you want to use mathematical symbols in a
cell, the Windows font Symbol has some.
There also one called "Royal Society of Chemistry", available for free, from
.... well guess.
Probably other maths related fonts around also.

Another option is insert a Microsoft equation editor object.
In Excel 2007, it is <Insert>< Object> <Microsoft Equation 3>
It will draw math equations, but you can't calculate with them.

Hi,

Maybe you want to chart a function?

See Stephen Bullen's ChtFrmla example
http://www.oaltd.co.uk/Excel/Default.htm

Or as an addin see Tushar Mehta's Plot Manager.
http://tushar-mehta.com/excel/softwa...ger/index.html

Cheers
Andy

If in excel, type in cell A2 (I assume this is your destination cell)
the following:

=A1^3+2*A1-1

I also assume your x value is in cell A1.

Thanks,

George
