Dragging shortcuts into Quick Launch folder doesn't work

I'm using XP Pro Version 2002, service pack 2. I am using an
account with administrator privileges. I dragged some shortcuts
into the "All Users" folder:

c:\Documents and Settings...
\All Users...
\Application Data...
\Microsoft...
\Internet Explorer...
\Quick Launch

However, these shortcuts do not show up in the Quick Launch bar.
I recall this happening in Windows 2000, too. In contrast, if I
drag shortcuts into the Desktop folder for "All User", these icons
do show up on the desktop of all users. Is Quick Launch just
special, and too bad, tough luck?

Fred

You are in the wrong folder. Copy your shortcuts to c:\Documents and
Settings \ "your name" \Application Data ...etc.

The simple method is to drag the shortcuts directly to the taskbar.

Good luck,

Woody

Hi, Woody,

I realize that your method can be used for individual accounts, but I
want to do this for all users, now and in the future. As I said, this
seems to work for icons put on the Desktop, but not on the Quick Launch.
I wonder if I'm overlooking something, or that is really the way windows
was made.
