I know that I can do things like change categories by dragging mails from one
group to another (take from one place, and drag into a category grouping).
Any way to do the same with subjects?

basically need to change subjects of mails, so that if someone responds to a
thread and is answering a different question (i.e., I sent topic A, then send
topic B, and receiver responds by using most recent topic B thread to respond
to A thread), then I'd like to be able to quicky change the topic B thread to
math the topic A thread, so that when I group subjects (which is my easy way
of keeping track of conversations), I am able to see all relevant information.

Any simple way to do this, other than having to go into each message,
editing the subject, and then saving back?

I am using OL '07.

I don't think this is possible.

If you compare your mails to paper docuements then you can file it in as
many files (categories) you want and move it between files but can you change
the document (changing subject in your case) by just moving it to a different
file?
