Dragging appointment works differently on different calendars

When we drag an appointment from one public calendar to another, the
default operation is to make a copy of the appointment in the target calendar.

However, when dragging an appointment from one shared calendar to another,
the default operation is to move the appointment to the target calendar.

Is there a way to make the latter a copy instead of a move when dragging?

Thanks.

Use the right click mouse button when dragging.

After furious head scratching, Julie asked:
