I am using MOSS 2007 and Outlook 2007. I have several folders created in
sharepont and have done the connect to outlook option in the actions button.
The folders all display nicely in Outlook under the SharePoint lists. I need
to get email messages from outlooks Inbox into these folders. Drag and drop
flat doesn't work, you don't get the arrow symbol that you have a document
attached. So I tried right clicking on a message while still in the Inbox
and the menu that displays is an option called Moved to Folder..... This
opens the Move Items menu where I can point to the Sharepoint folder that I
want the file to go. When I click on OK I get the message, "You cannot make
changes to contents of this read-only folder." I have tried to change the
permissions to the folders but can't see where it can be done. I created new
folders to see if I was missing something about read only or edit and still
nothing. Is there a way to do this? Doing a Save As and navigating to the
SharePoinet server is not an option.

Thanks for any help.

I noticed before that there was a problem with that, as I delved into the
matter I found that only Contact, Calendar, and task lists are editable
though outlook, Document Libraries are connected through a Read-Only
connection. This allows one to view documents through outlook, and even take
them offline, but to edit them and return them to sharepoint, you must do a
save as and use the web-dav connection, or upload them through the standard
sharepoint interface.

You can save e-mail to SharePoint directly from Outlook using 3rd
tools such as Colligo and SharedLook.

Thanks for the help. I have been doing the save-as to a temp folder and then
use the sharepoint upload to get the email there. I was just hoping there
was something that would allow me to turn the read-only off when created so I
could do the drag from Outlook. I think this sharepoint 2007 is going to be
a real pain in the buns.

Thank you for replying.
