I downloaded the trial version of Office 2007, I purchased a license
for Outlook 2007 (from CDW) and have the activation code for it. When
I try to "convert" it is not accepting the activation code, I suspect
because it is trying to activate the whole Office suite. So how do I
just activate outlook?

You need to get just a copy of outlook and install it.
