Hello Ben:
I hope of your use:
Please try these steps:
This steps help me:
1)<Start>All Programs>Accessories>System tools> Disk
Cleanup .(app to clean out temporary files)
2)Use MSCONFIG to disable startup of all third-party
services and as many third-party drivers as you can
manage. Please disconnect from the Internet (a third-
party software firewall may be disabled!) and then restart
with these items disabled.
After Start on Safe Mode
3)Try to download again and choose "Save to disk"
not "run".
4)Download CCleaner and install.

tag=lst-0-1
- Restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot/restart.
- Run CCleaner. if downloaded. Otherwise use Accessories,
System tools, Disk Cleanup app(CCleaner is faster).
- Try to start MSAS again and Scan.
Remember MS antispyware is a beta. If you think you have a
virus or other problems run ad-aware and/or spybot search
and destroy. As a virus checker run AVG 7.0. These three
programs are free and you should have them in your quiver
and run them regularly.
There are also others as well. but these three will do the
job for you.
Later on when MS gets the final version out try it again.
Meanwhile remove sit if you have had no experience with
incomplete beta programs.
Then try the installation again.
5)Double click on saved file to start install.
Additionally, check that your antivirus signatures are
current, and do a full scan of your drive.
Preparing for Installation of Microsoft AntiSpyware
The new version of Microsoft AntiSpyware automatically
removes the older version. If you have an older version,
you can transfer your existing option settings to the new
version of the program automatically when the new version
installs.
Before you install AntiSpyware, use these suggestions to
prepare your computer:
If you have any other anti-spyware programs on your
computer, you should uninstall them and restart your
computer before installing Microsoft AntiSpyware. Although
removing other anti-spyware programs is not necessary it
is recommend because it is possible that Microsoft
AntiSpyware could detect spyware that has already been
quarantined by another anti-spyware program if the other
program has not secured its quarantined files.
To uninstall other anti-spyware programs, see the user
documentation that came with the program.
Close all other Windows programs before installing
Microsoft AntiSpyware, including those programs displayed
in the Windows tray.
