Installed the AntiSpyware beta and having a problem.

I have several shortcut icons of DOS applications.
Click of those icons results in strange small window
appear at right lower corner and runs upword. Cannot
read the content as it runs fast.

I run WinVP SP2. Removing AntiSpyware cures the
problem.
It there any option to make DOS icons work somewhere?

Your problems sounds like others that have reported a defect with the
popup window presented by MSAS. It has to do with using a vertically
oriented Windows taskbar. Is your taskbar on the right or left edge of
the screen? What happens when you drag the taskbar to the bottom of the
screen?

I agree with Vanguard.

I think you are seeing a couple of bugs here, perhaps:

1) the vertical taskbar issue. Change the taskbar to horizontal, and you'll
be able to read and respond to the prompts.

2) there may be additional issues with regard to batch files and scripting.
There is a serious bug which has potential for data loss with regards to
responding to the prompt to allow a dos batch file to run.

Sorry about that--here's hoping that this is a good sign and perhaps some of
what that article describes will not exist in a build near us soon. I'm
looking to see if I can find it.

I can't. I've sent feedback asking why the content isn't visible anymore.

Here's the main issue: When a script is challenged on the first run--i.e.
you get a dialog box asking for a yes/no decision--the script, if approved,
runs, but loses directory context--it runs in the system32 directory. This
can have significant effect, depending on how carefully written the script
is.

There was other information in the original article, but this bug is the
major issue. After the first run, once approved, the script behaves
normally.

Be careful--there's testimony elsewhere in these group in the last two days
of a developer running a script which deleted .dll files.

He ended up reinstalling Windows because of this bug.
