How to stop the windows messenger icon from showing whenever I open Outlook
Express. (I know how to disable automatic log on, but don't want the icon

Removing it isn't the only option actually -- you can simply disable it in OE completely by
stopping Outlook Express, then downloading and running this .reg file:
