I took over a W2K domain with NT4 workstations. When
domain users logon to the network there are a few logon
scripts that run. The former IT person disabled a few
features when domain users logged on. The start/run
command is not visible (has been disabled or is hidden)
and users are not able to clear their webpage history (the
button is greyed out). I have not been able to find out to
re-enable those two features in the domain security policy
or the local security settings on the domain controller.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Glen

See below:
Remove Run menu from Start Menu
User Configuration\AdministrativeTemplates\Start Menu & Taskbar

Description
Removes the Run command from the Start menu and removes the New Task (Run)
command from Task Manager. Also, users with extended keyboards can no longer
display the Run dialog box by pressing the Application key (the key with the
Windows logo)+ R.

This policy affects the specified interfaces only. It does not prevent users
from using other methods to run programs.

Disable changing history settings
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet
Explorer

Description
Prevents users from changing the history settings for the browser.

If you enable this policy, the settings in the History area on the General
tab in the Internet Options dialog box appear dimmed.

If you disable this policy or do not configure it, users can change the
number of days to store Web page information and clear Web page history.

If you set the Disable the General page policy (located in User
Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet
Explorer\Internet Control Panel), you do not need to set this policy,
because the Disable the General page policy removes the General tab from the
interface.
