Hi, does anyone able to resolve www.zjls.gov.cn with root hints only, without
setting forwarders? I nslookuped, got timeout only. CNAME www.zjls.cache.srt.cn
is provided by the server with CyberKit, but its IP address is not resolved
then.

Worked for me first time.

Did you try the -time=10 (or 20) to see if this was merely a timeout issue?

nslookup -time=10 www.zjls.gov.cn

Name: www.zjls.cache.srt.cn
Address: 211.155.231.224
Aliases: www.zjls.gov.cn

I tried 2 servers, one w2k srv, the other w2003 srv, same problem. Ping replied
cannot find host www.zjls.gov.cn after a few seconds' delay.

CyberKit waited much longer but got no IP answer. However, it could get CNAME
from the server nearly at once.

BTW, sorry for my poor English.

Above is answer from www.zjls.gov.cn's authoritative NS (ns2.xinnetdns.com).

Could the error message be the reason? I've never seen SOA in such cases. For
example, ns1.msft.net's answer to request download.microsoft.com is a simple
CNAME.

Well, BIND 9.4.2 does not have this problem on my server.

You were instructed (in the previous message) to use NSLOOKUP with an
EXPLICIT
and longer TIMEOUT.

Your English seems fine. Don't worry about your English as long as it is
possible for us to understand your meaning.

It is certain that your English is better than my ability to write in YOUR
language. <grin>
