tested a server I made and made my home pc join the domain but now I have
moved it back to a workgroup its lost the nice XP log-in screen and pic on
the start bar. Is there any way to get it back?

Hi Luca,

You can restore the XP Welcome Screen by doing the following:

Click Start - Control Panel - User Accounts - Change the way users logon and
logoff.
Check the box for use Welcome Screen. (Check Fast User Switching if you
want to quickly switch between accounts).
Click Apply.

You should now have the XP Welcome Screen.
