Does the spyware inactivate the microsoft firewall

I installed the Beta spyware from Microsoft but noticed
after that my microsoft firewall has been inactivated.
tried to turn it on but it won't. Has this happened to
anybody.

If you are running Windows XP, Service Pack 2:

At a command prompt, type:

netsh winsock reset

hit enter
restart machine.

For earlier XP versions, or Windows 2000 or Windows Server 2003, use this KB
