What does "a folder by this name already exists" mean?

Can't access or delete email and get that message.

are you deleting messages or folders? it means a folder by that name is
already in the folder you are trying to "create" it in - in this case, the
deleted folder. Empty the deleted folder and try again.

Won't even let me empty the deleted folder. I get that same error message.

Any thoughts?

Can you delete things from Deleted Items by selecting them, then holding
Shift while you press Delete?
