What does ehRecvr.exe do?

The subject says most of it. Why am I asking?
Because WinTasks says a varying amount, mostly
around half, yes 50 percent, of my CPU is being
used by ehRecvr.exe. Aside from the fact that it's
Microsoft Media Center's "Receiver Service",
WinTasks has no further comments, including
whether or not it's vital that this task be running.
In general, performance of my system is ok,
although my scanner is scanning in short jumps
instead of the continuous scan I'm used to (this
odd behavior is what led me to investigate).

Any thoughts? Thanks.

I'm having the same problem using Vista. I end up ending the
"service" and that usually stops the "process". I'm not sure but I
first started noticing this issue when I started using Vongo and my X-
box 360 as a media extender. Not sure if they are related or not but
it's extremely frustrating. Anyone else using Vongo and an Xbox 360
together?
