what are reason why i can't save a workbook in excel97/2000(e.g.
OQAWW26.xls), error message received: Document Not Saved.

any workaround to fix this problem; is there any fixes available in
Microsoft.

any help would be appreciated.

One common problem is you don't have sufficient rights/permissions to save to
the drive/folder you're trying to save to.

Another problem is that the antivirus program is interferring.

Or even network problems.

You may want to post more details to get a better response.

the excel file was located in the network,
i have checked the folder permission/rights to the user.
check Antivirus running on workstation
and even re-install network driver to update the driver installed in the
workstation for i think this problem occures in the network. Also i check the
file or a template file if there is embedded objects as noted by Microsoft,
this may also cause the error.

none of these methods helps, i still got an problem "Document Not Saved"
(grrr, i usually figure out the error for an hour but this error message
kills me.)

When excel saves a file, it saves it as a funny name. If that goes ok, it
deletes the old file and renames that funny file to the old name.

Are you sure your permissions are set for renaming and deleting (as well as
creating)?

(If this is an intermittent error, I'd disable the AV software and see if that
helped.)
