A few months ago, the same happened to one of my friend's computer and I had
used the following method to remove the hidden attribute manually through
Command Prompt.

1. Click Start - Run - type CMD and press enter.
2. Type, Attrib -h [Drive Letter:]\[Folder Name]
3. Type, Attrib -h [Drive Letter:]\[Folder Name]\*.* /S /D

E.g.

Attrib -h C:\test - to unhide the folder
Attrib -h C:\test\*.* /s /d - to unhide all the files and subfolder of
temp folder.

Hope this help, let us know!

Hi RajKohli,

Very thanks for these commands. Yes, acually it works. I tested it
with a folder that I just created and I properties it and tick Hidden
then I use this command and it works.

But I have many old files and folders that is hidden because of
viruses, I think. When I log in to Folder Option and untick Hide
protected operating system files (Recommended), I saw all my old files
and folders back but it is hidden.

So, how can I unhide those files and folders back?

Please help me again with this.

Thanks in advace,

Susan
