Document Based upon an Existing Template

At one point I had posted a question entitled "Document Based upon an
Existing Template" for which I was notified of a response. Apparently, this
question was posted at a time when there were difficulties with the server
and I was unable to access the posted response(s). In the interim period, I
have searched for the original message based upon any number of variations of
the original in hopes of reading the posted responses. Thus far, I have been
unable to locate either the original message an/or any posted responses.

Is there something within the search procedure that I am perhaps missing?

Thanks in advance - Rod

Try using Google Groups for searching the archives. Search the group, search
for the subject, search for any posts by you - much easier than using the MS
web interface.

For those of us who use a newsreader, rather than the web interface, can see
it in this thread. I've copied it for you:
---------------------
A document has *access* to the macros in the attached template, that is
correct, but the macros are not copied into the document. Similarly, the
document has access to AutoText entries in the template. Only contents, page
layout settings, and styles will actually be transferred to the template
upon creation (this never happens with AutoText, though, since these can
only be stored in templates). See
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customizat...latesStore.htm.
