Document appearance question

I'm using Word 2002 and have been directed to edit a
document that someone else created. My question is how can
I get the document to appear "normally" in that when I
open it, there are lines that separate pages, with the
headers and footers overlapping. I clicked on different
Views but the appearance still hasn't changed.
I did a google search but no luck there.
TIA,
Regina
