When I try to open a doc using Open Office - it provides an error message:

OpenOffice.org cannot be started due to an error in accessing the
OpenOffice.org configeration data. Please contact your system administrator>
The following internal error has occured: GetStorage, name:"No Content! This
happens with any file including most word files or e-mail attachments.

However if I transfer this file to my sons user account on the same computer
- it opens. I must be limiting access somehow but sadly - No Clue. Ideas or
solutions please.

OpenOffice is not a Microsoft product.
Perhaps you need to uninstall it, then reinstall.

I'm aware it is a sun microsoft product and I have reinstalled. To be
honest, I think my issue stems not from Open Office but from some user
restriction in using multiple accounts in my windows XP. If so there may be
an easy solution in terms of readjusting access authorities. Could be wrong
of course.

Regards, Alan
